RPZ Installation
Minnesota Plumbing Code 4715.2110 dictates what type of buildings require installation of an RPZ. A permit is required and the installation must be completed by a licensed plumber.
Types of devices where back pressure is possible
- Boiler, other than one- or two-family residential
- Boiler, one- or two-family residential
- Car wash
- Chemical line
- Chemical tank
- Chiller
- Cooling tower
- Dental units (separate assembly required for each unit)
- Fire sprinkler system
- Flush tank (water closet, urinal, similar) (see part 4715.2150)
- Flush valve (water closet, urinal, similar) (see part 4715.2150)
- Food and beverage equipment or system
- Garbage can washer
- Glycol or other antifreeze system
- Lab equipment
- Laundry machine, commercial
- Lawn, garden, or greenhouse sprinkler system
- Operating, dissection, embalming, or mortuary table (see part 4715.1950)
- Private potable water supply (where permitted by administrative authority)
- Private nonpotable water supply (where permitted by administrative authority)
- Process line
- Process tank
- RV dump station
- Sewage treatment
- Soap dispenser (see part 4715.2165)
- Swimming pool, fountain, pond, baptistry, aquarium or similar
- Truck fill
- Vacuum systems or aspirators
